Privacy policy
PerfectStay Radio plays a business's own radio mix — music, station idents, spoken segments and adverts — on a phone. It is provided by Pixel Penguin for Perfect Stay and the businesses that use the PerfectStay Radio platform. This policy explains what the app stores and sends, and why.
Your account
You sign in with the email address your business's radio administrator registered for you. The app sends that address to our servers, and we email it a one-time sign-in code. Accounts are created by the administrator; the app cannot create one.
What the app stores on your phone
- The business you signed in to and its business device ID, kept in the phone's secure storage (Keychain or Android Keystore) so you stay signed in.
- The email address you signed in with, and the device profile you last chose, such as "Reception".
- Confirmations of finished plays that could not be sent yet because the phone was offline.
Signing out in the app, or uninstalling it, removes this information from the phone.
What the app sends to our servers
- Your email address and the sign-in code, to sign you in.
- The business device ID and the selected profile, to fetch that profile's radio mix.
- Which items finished playing and when. Businesses and advertisers use these proof-of-play reports; they are attributed to the device profile, not to a person.
- Your IP address, which our servers see with every request and use only to deliver the service, limit abuse and keep it secure.
What we do not collect
The app does not ask for your contacts, location, photos or microphone. It contains no advertising identifiers, analytics or tracking libraries, and we do not sell or share data with advertisers or data brokers.
Where the data goes
Accounts, radio content and play reports are handled by the PerfectStay Radio platform, hosted on Amazon Web Services in South Africa (af-south-1). Audio is streamed from that storage over encrypted connections. Sign-in codes are delivered by our email provider, Mailgun, which only sends them on our behalf.
How long we keep it
Sign-in codes expire after 10 minutes and are deleted within two days. Your account stays until your business's administrator removes it. Play reports are kept for as long as the business uses PerfectStay Radio, so it can review what played and when.
Deleting your data
To have your PerfectStay Radio account or your business's play reports deleted:
- Email gerrit@pixel-penguin.com with the subject "PerfectStay Radio data deletion".
- Send it from the email address you sign in with, and say whether you want your account deleted, your business's play reports, or both.
- We confirm by email and complete the deletion within 30 days.
Deleting your account removes your email address and sign-in history. Deleting play reports removes the record of what played on your business's devices. Your business's radio content itself is managed by your administrator and is not affected.
Children
The app is a tool for businesses and is not directed at children.
